Machinery exporter hits record turnover in 2008

Viet Nam Engine and Agriculture Machinery Corporation (VEAM) of the Ministry of Industry and Trade earned US$17 million in export turnover in 2008, said VEAM’s General Director Nguyen Thanh Giang.

VEAM’s exports increased sharply compared with the previous year, including engines (45%), pumps (55.6%) and engine accessories (137%).

This year, VEAM aims for earnings of US$14 million from exports, despite the global economic crisis. (VOV)
