Vietnam’s apparel exports to the US rose in the first six months of the year even though selling prices also increased, according to the Viet Nam Textile and Apparel Association.
An official said the average price of Vietnam’s apparel was about US$2.93 a square meter, 26% higher than at the same time last year.
The average price of apparel from other exporters to the US was about $1.79 per square meter.
Viet Nam exported $2.4 billion of apparel to the US, a 19% increase in the first six months of this year.
The US accounted for 57% of Vietnam’s total apparel exports in the first half.
