Vietnam Exhibition and Convention Association established

The Vietnam Exhibition and Convention Association (VECA) made its debut on June 30 in Hanoi and organised its first meeting the same day.

The association currently has more than 70 members including enterprises operating in the exhibition and convention sector, departments of industry and trade and trade promotion centres of localities.

The association is established in the initiative from the Ministry of Industry and Trade and is aimed at creating a more favourabe conditions for members to help and co-operate with each other to promote the development of the sector and boost integration with the international exhibition and convention sector and protect the legitimate rights of members and help domestic manufacturers and producers to expand economic relations with other domestic and foreign partners.

Mr Bui Xuan Khu, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, has been selected as VECA president.
