Dung Quat Oil Refinery's SPM successfully installed

Contractors of Package 4 of the Dung Quat Oil Refinery Plant project on July 11 successfully installed underground systems of crude oil pipelines and the single-point mooring system, the investor Viet Nam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) has announced.

The single-point mooring system (SPM) is designed as a wharf-free station for crude oil to be pumped into the refinery through a pipeline system.

The SPM can accommodate crude oil tankers of 80-110,000 tonnes.

After the successful installation of these equipment and put them into operation, next work for PetroVietnam is to import diesel oil (DO) for operation of the boiler and to put the power plant of the project into operation, making all preparations for official operation of the refinery in early 2009.
