Minh Phu Aqua-Poduct Im-Ex Joint-stock Corporation in Ca Mau has successfully experimented with the breeding of white leg shrimps in a 13 hectare area.

According to the Corp.’s CEO, Le Van Quang, the pilot project to bred shrimp has been progressing well for 75 days.

Productivity is expected to reach 10 tonnes per hectare. Each kilogram is made up of 75 shrimp.

Such an achievement will open new opportunities in the aqua-product cultivation market for Ca Mau’s farmers because Ca Mau was previously unable to white leg shrimp.

If the experiment is successful, white leg shrimp cultivation will be expanded to 6,000 hectares by 2010 under the direction of the Ca Mau People’s Committee.
