S Korea's Hyosung puts Viet Nam textile plant into operation

HYOSUNG CORP. (KSE:04800), a South Korean maker of textiles and heavy machinery, said Thursday it has begun operating its spandex plant in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam. The plant has an annual production capacity of 15,000 tons of spandex, Hyosung said in a statement.

* Hyosung invested US$100 million to build the plant starting in October last year.

* Hyosung operates spandex plants in South Korea, Turkey and China.
