Hanoi records 10.9 per-cent GDP growth in six months

Hanoi ’s gross domestic product (GDP) grows by an estimated 10.9% in the first six months of this year from one year ago, reported the municipal People’s Committee.

The capital city also expects to see a year-on-year increase of 15.6% in industrial production value in the reviewed period.

Contributing to the result, the foreign invested sector records an increase of 22.2%, the non-State sector – 16.1% and the State sector – 7%.

The Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee, Hoang Manh Hien, said the city has been carrying out a programme to develop key industrial products for the 2006-2010 period.

He also said more incentives and support will be given to local enterprises to manufacture 35 key industrial products. (VNA)
