Thanh Hoa halts new export licences

The Thanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee has determined to temporarily stop the granting of export licenses for ceramic tiles production and investment projects beginning in May.

Additionally, the province will not encourage existing projects to expand their production in order to protect environmental resources.

Thanh Hoa plans to produce 7 million sq.m of ceramic tiles, with 2.8 million sq.m for export this year, and 10 million by 2010.
