PM agrees expansion of Quan Ngang IP in Quang Tri province

The Prime Minister has agreed to increase the total area for the Quan Ngang Industrial Park in central Quang Tri province by 65 hectares.

Under PM’s decision, the total area for the IP will be expanded to 205 hectares from the current 140 hectares.

The Quan Ngang IP’s detailed planning was approved in April 2004 by Quang Tri provincial People’s Committee. It is also in the PM’s list of 115 IPs that are priotised for new establishment by 2015.

The IP, located in Gio Quang commune, Gio Linh district, is only 7 kilometres from Quang Tri’s Dong Ha township, five kilometres from Cua Viet seaport and 87 kilometres from Phu Bai Airport in Hue city. It is next to Ha Thanh railway station and National Highway No 1. In particular, it is also on the trans-Asia route and only 55 kilometres from Lao Bao Special Trade Economic Zone.

Investment projects in all fields are encouraged to Quan Ngang IP, with focus in agricultural-forestry and fisheries processing projects, garments and textiles, services and transit warehouses. (Nhan Dan)
