The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (APEX) has decided to put Viet Nam into its list of prioritised markets for the next three years.
Apart from Viet Nam, other Asian countries, including China, the Republic of Korea and Singapore, were also listed for the 2008-2010 period.
Brazil’s statistics show that two-way trade between the South American country and Viet Nam reached over 323 million USD in 2007, an increase of 58% over the previous year.
Viet Nam’s exports to Brazil reached 106.846 million USD last year, a year-on-year increase of 41.4%, while its imports stood at 216 million USD, a rise of 67.7%, according to the statistics.
